Capo Maintenance

Preserving the Life of Your Capo Blog Post

Your Paige Capo is built to last! Here's a few tips and tricks from Bryan and Lisa Paige to help you care for and preserve the life of your capos.

Replace your tubing when necessary!
The tubing will naturally wear over the years. You can rotate it when you start noticing deep indentations, but eventually you may want to replace it. Thankfully, tubing is very inexpensive and easy to swap out! (Not applicable for Paige Pros)

Use oil to keep parts moving!
Apply a small amount of oil (3-in-1, WD-40, etc.) to the screw and hinge of your capo to keep everything moving smoothly and easy to maneuver.

Don’t over-tighten!
The Paige Capo is designed to require only a minimal amount of tension across your strings. This protects your instrument’s tone and tuning—and helps extend the life of your capo. Simply tighten the screw until the strings no longer buzz, and you’re ready to play!
